Here is a the Timeline and chronological biography of the Lewis Family Success.

1925 • Roy Lewis and Pauline Holloway secretly get married

1940’s • Roy and Pauline Lewis’ four out of eight of children start a singing group named the Lewis Brothers

1951 • The brothers are joined by Roy and his daughters join the brothers, and form the Lewis Family for a “Woodmen of the World” meeting

1951 • Sullivan Records releases the first Lewis Family album, and almost 60 were to follow, released on several labels

1954 • The Lewis family went on to get a weekly performance on a WJBF television program in Augusta, Georgia, and they continued to perform on this show until  1992. This show was longest weekly syndicated program show in WJBF’s history

1992 • The Lewis Family was honored with the induction into Georgia’s Music Hall of Fame

2002 • Pauline “Mom” Lewis dies

2004 • Roy “Pop” Lewis dies at the age of 98

2006 • The Lewis Family was Inducted into the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame

2009 • The Lewis Family perform their final concerts in the group’s hometown of Lincolnton, GA, and in Dover, Pa. before they retire that year.
